GetTogether event on TMap® Next

Posted on July 22nd, 2009

Do we talk about a tradition when something gets organized for the third time? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, little less than thirty interested people found it to be worth their while to join us at the GetTogether on TMap® on June 23th in Wetteren.

The fact that Queaso Systems already organized more then ten GetTogether events doesn’t count for a tradition: that we combine the summer-session with a BBQ in brasserie “Den Blakken” does.

Unlike last year, the weather was excellent. As always the drinks were chilled and the food not too bad. The beautiful gardens of Den Blakken invited for long and winding conversations. Not at least on the topic of the evening: Test Management Approach.

TMap® Next – is Sogeti’s core solution in the domain of structured testing. This business-driven, risk-based methodology for structured software testing is designed to address the key issues of quality, time and cost across the whole development lifecycle. TMap® offers a comprehensive and consistent approach to project and program test management, execution and quality assurance, suitable for all types and sizes of organizations. It is an adaptive method suitable for all test situations in most development environments. The specific TMap® content of a structured test approach can be summarized in four essentials:
•    TMap is based on a business-driven test management (BDTM) approach.
•    TMap describes a structured test process.
•    TMap contains a complete tool box.
•    TMap is an adaptive test method.
The key elements of this methodology will be presented and will show the strength of this world leading test methodology.

A few words on our speaker of the evening, who did a decent job: Geert Vanhove started his professional career at Sogeti in 2000. He has become an expert in TMap Next® (updated test methodology of Sogeti). Next to this he is ISEB Foundation certified. Geert has built up practical experience in multiple projects in different environments. Several tasks have been done by him during these projects: test execution, test coordination, coaching, etc. He is often asked to organize internal training sessions and trainings at the customer’s side. Since April 2009 he gives technical support for the Test department.
The full presentation of Geert can be watched here.
